When Production Begins
When a well operated by Turtle Creek Oil Company enters production, each owner of an interest in the property will ordinarily receive a division order. This instrument records the terms under which production proceeds are remitted and confirms the owner's interest for purposes of payment.
A division order package will generally set forth:
- Property name
- Property number
- Description of the property
- Decimal interest attributed to the owner
Address Updates
The records by which ownership interests are maintained must necessarily depend upon accurate information. An owner whose address has changed should therefore submit written notice of the change and complete an I.R.S. W-9 Form.
The completed form may be sent by email to Division Orders or mailed to the address below. All correspondence should include the owner's name, owner number, telephone number and current mailing address.
Ownership Changes
During the life of a producing property, interests may pass from one owner to another through sale, inheritance or other lawful transfer. When such a change occurs, the Company's records must be supported by the appropriate documentation.
In general, we require the instrument evidencing the transfer to be duly recorded in the real property records of the county or parish in which the property is situated. Because the circumstances of each transfer may differ, owners should contact Division Orders to determine what additional documentation, if any, is required before the Company's records and payment instructions can be amended.
All correspondence concerning ownership or division orders may be mailed to the address below or sent by email to Division Orders.
